About who needs care: At 103, she has poor hearing but can comprehend when she does hear. She does have dementia symptoms such as sundowners. Forgets things and can be aggressive verbally one minute and love you the next. Loves to talk about her history and brag about her life. Wants to control everything even tho she doesn't understand how most things are organized or work. She is very conscious about caring for herself in terms of hair, nails, clothing. Brushes her own teeth and makes herself martinis (which the doctor says is ok) and will instruct you on how to cook things the way she likes them otherwise she will complain if it doesn`t taste the way she wants. Since she is basically wheelchair bound you will have to guide her when she cannot maneuver the chair herself. She likes to go shopping occasionally in the grocery store and go to church on Sundays. But mostly her day is sedentary, listening to 1930-40s music. About the care needs: To be honest she prefers men who are patient and willing to indulge her whims. They must be patient because she can lash out but then feel remorseful and apologize. She also talks a lot and rambles so they have to be understanding. Music! Music! Music! If they like to sing or play an instrument that would be ideal.
