About who needs care: Dad has dementia, and diabetes. Uses a WC but walks daily with his FWW to the kitchen and into the bathroom. Loves popcorn and nuts. Incontinent of bowel/bladder but occasionally uses the restroom. Stand pivot transfer with bed rail/FWW to bed/chair. Slide board transfer in/out of the car. Ideal day is vitals/freshen up first thing. Then breakfast usually in bed. Needs bathing then freshen up before lunch at the kitchen table. Sit in the driveway/throw the ball for the dog/play with the cats/talk/watch TV/read. Freshen up Mid afternoon. Get ready for 4:30 p.m. dinner. Feed animals, hang out until rolling down to room to fresh up and relax in bed at 6 p.m. About the care needs: Someone with a heart for those with dementia and know how to go on their journey with them and dont continually correct them. Someone that can assist them with enjoying activities. Retired Fire Chief.
