About who needs care: My mom is 85 and has dementia. My father passed away a year ago. My mom likes to watch tv and visit my father's tomb. She really doesn't like to go anywhere anymore. She loves company and talking to people. She speaks Spanish but can communicate in English as well. She'll be in bed until around 8:00 a.m. then slowly get up and come to the living room to watch the news. She'll get ready for the day, and then sit to watch tv. About the care needs: Spanish speaking is ideal. Someone who likes to talk and have conversations, and has a pleasant demeanor, but not overly assertive (loud in tone or demanding). Some one who knows how to take blood pressure, deal with someone who has dementia, and can administer medication. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
