About who needs care: My mom is having hip replacement surgery in early April. She hasn't had this type of surgery before this is new to her. She has severe arthritis and has lots of trouble walking. This affects her daily living. She is diabetic and thankfully has that under control and manages She does not require insulin. Her interests are traveling, reading, gardening, religious (Christian), keeping up with news, and going on walks (when she was able to). An ideal day for her may look like the following. 7 to 8 a.m. wake up (varies) 7:30 a.m. physical therapy 8 a.m. breakfast (while watching news) 8:30 a.m. reading 9:30 a.m. rest 10 a.m. activity / house chore 12noon lunch 1 p.m. rest or nap 3 p.m. activity / house chore 6 p.m. dinner I'm her daughter and searching for extra support "in advance" to have extra support ready to care for my mom while I"m working. I imagine support to look like 4 to 5 days a week for 1/2 day either morning OR afternoon (not sure) for about 2 to 3 weeks for post-surgery care.
