About who needs care: Has moderate dementia, but resistant to having a caregiver so would need to start slow and possibly frame it as something different. She is the kindest, sweetest woman I know and struggling with the loss of independence. Needs companionship as much as she needs help with daily tasks like making sure she eats, takes her meds, and getting out of the house. She has 3 children who are very involved and live next door / across the street / a few blocks away, but we all need to work so help mostly needed in the day. She has always been a late riser, so a few hours in the afternoon would help a lot. She has a miniature poodle that she dotes on, so must like highly spoiled dogs. : ) About the care needs: Loves chatting, but have patience for repetitive conversations. Empathetic and kind towards the emotions that come as someone faces dementia and loss of independence. Flexibility, as she sometimes has dr appts, lunch with friends, etc. She grew up in the military and lived all over the world, loves dogs, and helped pave the way for women in the workforce. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
