About the job
About who needs care: She just had a mini stroke. She got out of hospital on January 3, 2025. She has dementia. She uses a walker for mobility. Mom has a drop foot from an aneurism she had in 1971. She speaks to her sisters every day possible on the phone. This brings them all a lot of joy and precious memories. Mom thrives on routine but we have to also be flexible due to doctor appointments and life. Mom is usually sweet and good natured. Sundowning brings out different parts of her personality. She is not combative but gets more verbal about her wants and needs. Dementia is unpredictable and not always pleasant and ever changing. I am looking for a caring, loving , positive , professional and knowledgeable caregiver that can help her in her nightly routine : frequent bath room visits, cleanliness of her by changing her diaper (pull up and poise pads) , washing her up, and changing clothes and sheets if needed. Getting her back into bed and giving her reassurance that she emotionally needs to fall back to sleep. I am looking forward to meeting a caregiver match for my mom. This is a nightly position until her needs change. Hours may vary at times but looking to be 9pm - 7 am at this time.
