About who needs care: Emerson is a 27-year-old trans-man who is a little over 1 week post-top surgery. He started experiencing non-epileptic seizures connected to anxiety and chronic stress through this surgical process. He is so thrilled about his gender affirming surgery, and he is navigating the complexities of being trans in this current political moment, as well as in proximity to family. Emerson is an opera singer who loves memes, musical theater, comedy, and coloring. We're currently structuring his days as follows: - Wake-up around 7 a.m. - Eat food and take morning meds - Color/watch TV/rest - Wash up - Eat lunch, take midday meds - Color/watch TV/rest - Take afternoon meds - Color/watch TV/rest - Eat dinner - Color/watch TV/rest - Take evening meds - Sleep around midnight About the care needs: We're looking for pro-queer and pro-trans community members and/or allies. It would be great to have someone who can be very affirming of Emerson's gender transition. Emerson is experiencing non-epileptic seizures as a result of anxiety and stress, so the ideal caregiver would be able to maintain a calm and reassuring presence during and following those seizure episodes. Someone who could bond over Emerson's love of theater would be a great fit. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
