About who needs care: Dad is recovering from cervical spine surgery in February, and currently receives in-home occupational and physical therapy but expects to graduate to in-office therapy within the next month. Currently uses a walker with gate belt assistance to move around the house, and has a catheter. Enjoys music, television and reading. Ideal day would include AM grooming, breakfast, light exercise (recommended by PT), computer time, lunch, nap, light exercise, television and/or music, dinner and ready for bed. Wife is 92 and assists with meals, laundry, groceries, errands, and companionship. Hours needed for caregiver assistance will hopefully reduce in time with improved mobility through physical therapy. About the care needs: Male caregiver preferred with kind personality and respectful social skills including awareness of personal privacy, property and opinions. My parents are wonderful people and must not be taken advantage of in any way. Services needed include: transportation, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
