About who needs care: Maury is very hearing impaired around 80% hearing loss, she can read lips when you talk slowly. She has a phone app where it captions what you say. Yelling is perfectly okay so she can hear you. Maury (she) had kidney issues and is an ovarian cancer survivor. Maury also from time-to-time has veinous ulcers and may require wound care. Maury is interested in current events and talking about her past. She hardly ever leaves the house, so the ultimate goal is to get her taking walks with her walker outside. Maury needs to take a successful shower twice a week (per the unsuccessful agreement). About the care needs: A great fit would be someone who is kind but firm and knows how to reach stubborn people/seniors. They will need to be able to wrap a wound and give showers. No specific hobbies or interests, just listening to Maury talk and nodding in understanding. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
