About who needs care: Dad needs someone to pick him up and take him to a cafe in Chico every morning. Dad arrives right at 6:30 a.m. the minute they open, and has breakfast there EVERY morning- the only time he does not is when the establishment is closed. He would need someone to come get him and deliver him and then come back to pick him up at 7:30. Take him to the facility or anywhere else, Then take him home for his morning routine. Then about an hour later, take him out to the mall for his walk, which takes about an hour- then bring him back home. A total of about 3. 5 to 4 hours a day. About the care needs: Dad used to be a science teacher, and was in the army when he was a young man. He used to be very handy, and likes to putter around the house. Dad has ADHD- undiagnosed. Because of this, he actively looks for ways to keep busy; because he has dementia, he cant remember much of details, but will often nod and comment as if he can. He likes to feel like he is part of the conversation, and will comment on everyday situations and things he sees. He will take a nap after his breakfast routine, either before or after his walk. Then lunch between 11 and 12. Any kind of person that is easygoing, patient, and observant. Dad sees almost everything that other people may miss- and he appreciates others who do the same. Dad can be a bit difficult sometimes due his routine being disrupted; just because he absolutely NEEDS THE ROUTINE and constant movement due to his ADHD. Dad doesn't understand about ADHD, and doesn't remember much about the topic of science anymore. He does remember growing up in a rural environment, and remembers working on his sisters farm in Idaho like 75 years ago. Selective, you know? Also remembers traveling around with my mom during road trips. Spent his teen and beyond years in Paradise and Chico CA. Services needed include: transportation, and companionship.
