About who needs care: Early dementia no physical limitations. Can dress herself but no longer operate microwave. Husband recently died after 50 years together. Lives with son in two story 3+ bedroom house in Berkeley. Ideally a person could assist Mom with getting on a schedule of going to bed before midnight, getting up in morning to start the day with meal then take her out for errand like shopping or senior center activity. She enjoys walking and talking about politics. Watches too much news on cable tv which makes her anxious needs to be in nature more. Needs help with meals, shower and meds. Some light housework. My brother could fill in for care giver as needed but is unable to handle all duties alone. Studio apt available in back for live in care giver. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
