About the job
About who needs care: Marie is in mid stage Alzheimers and enjoys quilting, doing puzzles, going for walks, making flower arrangements, gardening, and other creative activities. She is able to do many things herself, such as use the bathroom, shower, eat, etc. There are currently two part time caregivers on staff who do the morning and evening shifts (breakfast and dinner) during the week. We are looking for someone part time to work four days a week from 12pm-4 p.m. to be with Marie during the day so she has some companionship. About the care needs: The ideal caregiver would be warm hearted, kind, patient, and have an interest in creative activities. Marie also likes games, such as scrabble, yatzee, and board games. But in general you wouldn't need to have any specific interests as long as you are able to genuinely care for and support Marie in her interests. You also would not need to have any special skills, this is strictly a companionship position. There would be no medical related caregiving. Services needed include: companionship.
