severely affected vision and caused mild cognitive impairment (mostly short-term memory). Has occasional "memory fog & disorientation. Stroke occurred during emergency open heart surgery necessitated by a botched Watchman implant She barely survived but bounced back but seems to be slowly weakening due to variety of ongoing health issues. She can care for herself and is mobile with a rollator but tires easily with pre-existing (prior to the surgical accident) primary and essential orthostatic tremors, DM2, AFIB and chronic hypothyroidism topping the list. I have been her full-time informal caregiver since March of 2023 except for 4 months in early 2024 when She was in full-time assisted living after our house flooded from an accident and I simply could not manage everything that was going on. An ideal afternoon once a week for both of us would be : She's someone who isn't hard of hearing to listen to her, straighten up a few things around the house, organize her drawers and closets etc. for it would be peace of mind while shopping, getting a haircut or maybe just closing my bedroom door, doing some paperwork or taking a nap. About the care needs: Calm, attentive, positive, detail-oriented and reliable. Basic homemakers skills ability to use appliances and follow a recipe. She like her houseplants- a green thumb would be good. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
