About who needs care: My father is an 88-year-old male with Parkinson's. He is a hospice palliative care patient and receives weekly CNA and Nurse visits. He is able to walk with walker and spends most of his day watching movies. He has a regimented prescription medication schedule starting at 10am, which he takes with protein shake. He generally stays in bed until noon-1 p.m. and will take lunch with medications at 2 p.m. He would benefit from having caregiver give him his medications, making lunch and helping as needed with dressing. Light cleaning would be a plus (throwing out trash, empty bed side urinal, light moping of my father's bedroom / bathroom) He would also benefit with company and short walks. My wife works from home in her designated office space but will be available if needed. About the care needs: A good fit would be someone with easy going personality as my father does like to joke around but can be stubborn or demanding. A caregiver who can motivate him to get up and moving earlier in the morning and who can be interactive would be best. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
