My grandmother had a stroke in August and is in a long-term acute care facility in Scottsdale. We are looking for someone to help her communicate, ensure she is well taken care of by the facility staff, and to provide a consistent line of communication on her care and progress to our family. She is currently bedbound and on a ventilator, but is making progress towards weaning. She is gaining back strength to her unaffected side and can often answer yes/no questions with head nods or thumbs up/down, can point to something she needs, and will try to write with a pen to communicate. We are interested in hiring a CNA to provide companionship, ensure she gets repositioned by staff, help her stretch her limbs, make sure she is kept clean and dry, communicate her needs to staff, and provide daily reports of her progress to us.
