About who needs care: Stroke survivor w/ life-altering effects. Acute rehab discharge approaching quickly w/ no major improvements. Right side of body not fully recovered. Speech and cognition impairment. Patient will be in a wheelchair; cannot transport herself to/from bed, wheelchair, toilet, shower, etc. Rehab has required two people during any and all transfers. Patient is diabetic and hypertensive. Prior to stroke, patient was 100% able bodied and "Alive & Kickin'" as they say. She loved to walk, garden, cook, participate in church, be with family, etc. Her typical day would begin with breakfast and cleaning, or vice verse, while watching her favorite tv shows. Then she'd likely go outside and either walk or tend to her garden, or both. She'd then take a shower and get ready for the day, even if she had nothing to do. Maybe make some important phone calls. Watch more tv. Eat lunch. Take a nap. Wake up, Make dinner. More chores. More TV. More Naps. Back in the kitchen for whatever reason, then bedtime. But bedtime was a whole process. Brush teeth, wash up, change clothes, prep tomorrow's clothes, self care... you get the idea. She's gonna need a lot of help. About the care needs: Seeking a kind, friendly, attentive, intuitive, patient, responsible, optimistic, trustworthy, respectful, understanding, empathetic person who knows a thing or two about housekeeping in general (ie. cooking, cleaning, etc.) and ideally interested in plants/gardening, which I know is tricky in AZ but she still manages somehow Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
