About who needs care: In-Home Caregiver Needed for Hospice Patient Hours: Daily, 10:00 a.m. Approx. 2:00 p.m. (flexible, if needed) Compensation: $15-$20 We are seeking a compassionate, reliable caregiver to assist our 76-year-old father who is on hospice care. He has Stage 4 prostate cancer, is recovering from pneumonia, and needs help with daily personal tasks and meal prep. He is alert, kind-hearted, and enjoys fishing, the History Channel, and Discovery Channel shows. Responsibilities: Assist with morning hygiene (basic grooming, emptying bed bag, etc.). Safely move him from bed to recliner with walker support. Prepare and serve breakfast and a second meal (menu provided, easy meal prep). Ensure his recliner area is tidy, and remove trash as needed. Provide companionship and engage in conversation if he's interested. Prep beverages/snacks and ensure they are accessible. Assist with his return to bed safely after his time in the recliner. Requirements: Experience in caregiving, particularly with hospice or elderly individuals. Understanding of fall prevention and safe movement techniques. Patience, kindness, and good communication skills. Comfortable tidying up and light housekeeping tasks. Preferred: Familiarity with walker use and helping individuals with mobility issues. Ability to follow specific care instructions and accommodate his preferences. Services needed include: feeding, and bathing / dressing.
