About who needs care: Hi. My dad doesn't have any high dementia, but just where he may not remember to trace back thru same route he walked on. He used to walk and take a long route every morning. One day, he couldn't find the energy to get back and fell. This was a few months ago. Now he doesn't go for walks. This has slowed down all other good hints his body would give him. I cannot be there to ensure he does his morning walk. I can tell him his doctor has sent someone to watch him walk. A half hour walk or less would be great for him. The route can be changed as long as someone can ensure he traced his steps back. He is a fit man, but needs to be told to get ready for an appointment and he absolutely must wear his hearing aids. He may choose not to drink water before a walk but he should remember to drink water after the walk. So, just smaller things like that. About the care needs: It would be good if it was someone who liked staying fit themselves. Someone who could tell him about something going on in town or construction or news alongwith asking him what month, week and day it us would be great. He loves company and history, politics discussions. He does all his chores himself. He just forgets. He will return to walking if he is told those are doctor's orders.
