About who needs care: We need someone to help my mom care for her sister who has down syndrome. The right person would get my aunt up to go potty at 515 a.m. because in her old age she has accidents if she does not get up in time. After that they would need to give her a bath and feed her breakfast. The ideal candidate would also wash my Aunts bedding and clothes and clean her bedroom and her bathroom. Upon completion of task would spend the remaining time interacting with my aunt doing things like coloring, taking her for a walk, look at animal magazines with her and those types of things actually interacting with her to keep her mind in the present. My mom needs someone once a week to give her this break that will actually do these tasks instead of sitting on their phone doing nothing and have some experience with down syndrome individuals and understands how to interact with them. We need someone who is willing to also clean her up and bath her again IF she has an accident during your work hours. This would be a once a week job with potential down the road to become more days as time goes on and finances allow. My mom has spent the last 17 years taking care of my aunt as well as my grandparents who had dementia and my father who had sever diabetes. My mom needs a break atleast once a week badly because now her own health has taken a toll due to the stress of caring for so many and not having the time to take care of herself.
