About the job
About who needs care: Mom is 82. My sister lives 10 minutes away but can't be there all the time. Mom has some mobility problems and some dementia (not bad). She tends to have difficulty with her adult diapers/showering (hates it). She moves with a cane/walker. She lives in a nice independent living community. Light housekeeping is difficult though her house is cottage is cleaned twice a month. She has a precious old Labrador Retriever who lives with her. He loves everyone. We want her to stay with him as long as possible. Mom only needs someone about 3 hours (mornings) 2 or 3 times a week. She is a nice person and not aggressive or combative. About the care needs: Someone who is kind and enjoys talking with her a bit. Mostly we need someone who can change the sheets and do the laundry (if needed) along with sweeping/vacuuming up after old Buster, our Labrador. Removing and replacing trash bags, etc. No cooking is required. The Terrace brings two meals a day to her and my sister brings groceries on Saturdays. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
