Caregiver for Elderly Man with Terminal Bone Cancer We are seeking a compassionate and reliable caregiver to provide dedicated assistance to my 70-year-old dad with terminal bone cancer, who has lymphodema, a broken leg, and recovering from a partial hip replacement. The ideal candidate will offer not only essential care but also companionship during this challenging time. This position is crucial in ensuring his comfort, dignity, and quality of life. Responsibilities Personal Care Assistance: Help with showering, grooming, and other hygiene-related tasks. Ensure safety during mobility to prevent falls or injuries. Companionship: Provide emotional support and spend quality time engaging in conversations or activities that bring joy and comfort. Medication Management: Assist with refilling prescriptions and ensuring medications are taken as directed by healthcare providers. Progressive Care Needs: Be prepared to adapt as the disease progresses, which may include increased assistance with mobility, feeding, and general comfort measures. Light Household Tasks: Perform minor housekeeping tasks related to caregiving (e. g., cleaning the bathroom after showering, tidying living spaces). Qualifications Prior experience caring for individuals with terminal illnesses or similar conditions preferred. Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills. Ability to handle physical tasks related to caregiving, such as lifting or supporting during transfers. Understanding of palliative care and end-of-life needs is a plus. Schedule & Compensation Flexible schedule: needed a couple times a week for 2 hour increments to start but then ramp from there Competitive pay based on experience. Requirements Must be at least 25 years of age Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (if needed for errands or appointments). Background check required. CPR/First Aid certification preferred
