About who needs care: Dad has late stage dementia. He is typically mellow in mood, and loves to hit a beachball back and forth. He needs assistance taking his medication. It needs to be crushed and put into foods twice daily. He needs full bathroom help, including changing of adult diapers. He likes to walk outside during pretty weather, and enjoys his stuffed dog. We would like to have assistance in the morning and evenings with medicine, as well as daily caregiving and hygiene needs. About the care needs: We're looking for someone who is calm and gentle. Dad responds well in general conversations, but gets overwhelmed with loud noises or a lot of commotion. We'd like someone trained in dementia care who will interact with him and keep him stimulated. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
