About who needs care: Joyce has balance and mobility issues, weakness; cannot prepare her own meals; on medicated eye drops; compressions stockings for swelling in legs; she also has afib medication; Joyce loves history and reading, also very social; dozes quite often; very content and up-beat personality; Daily assistance with getting dressed and upstairs for the day; reads in her chair or socializes and talks on phone, some naps; late morning breakfast; snack in afternoon and then early dinner; assistance with going downstairs to bedroom; for the night. Joyce has medical alert necklace she wears when she's alone for a couple hours at a time. Joyce does not drive anymore. About the care needs: Someone who is patient and physically strong to assist her when she is too weak to get up (she has a lift chair) or balance if unsteady. Joyce is VERY slow physically. Someone who is kind and compassionate. Common sense! Ability to multi-task a plus. Because of occasional incontinence and balance issues, Joyce would likely prefer a female if assisting with dressing, bathing or toilet activities. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
