About who needs care: Both parents: Mom: history of stroke, has mobility limitations, needs help with many activities, but can feed herself, uses a wheelchair and lift (for getting in and out of bed) and is working with PT for short distances with a walker; loves music, loves decorating; retired from work in healthcare/IT Dad: has Alzheimer Disease, but is still able to do activities with others; likes puzzles of various sorts, is a retired minister, loves children, loves music About the care needs: We would love someone who is a non-smoker, is positive, is patient, and who can gently motivate others. My parents attend a weekly choir practice at church, as well as my Mom is currently attending PT twice a week at a nearby clinic. Someone with specific training or experience with dementia would be an ideal candidate. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
