About who needs care: 95 yr. old woman, w/dementia, IDK about how advanced. Does small things for herself, dress, make cereal, loves to read, has done it all her life, but DK how much she understands, she'll tell me she's captivated, but can't relay what she read. I have problems getting her to shower, but she'll clean herself, cause I don't notice BO. Also, she used to charge her hearing aides at night, now, she just sleeps with them in, and I can't get her to charge them. I leave notes, but she'll just say, "don't tell me what to do". I need someone to somehow redirect her to understand the imperative. I give her her medicine in pudding cups, cause she won't take 'em on her own. If her pants are falling down, she won't let me put a belt on her, but I could have a year ago. I guess that's all. About the care needs: One skill, is an ability to seem completely devoted to this woman. She's my Mom. I live in her mobil home, caring for her after my Dad past away. She's become indifferent to me at times and an adversary at others. Whoever, must have a calming, soothing, positive and, not just friendly, but an "I'm your friend" type personality. Services needed include: companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
