About who needs care: My grandmother has broken her hip and her pelvis in the last couple of months, and is recovering from these falls. She also has lost her daughter just last month and is grieving this terrible loss. Her memory had begun to take a turn before all of these traumas, but now is declining quite a bit quicker. She is often confused about the current situations. My grandmother enjoys reading the paper and drinking coffee at all hours of the day. She has always enjoyed puttering around her home when she was able, and likes to call her family for phone chats. My grandmother will need help getting up and down, showering, and some help in the restroom, especially at the beginning. We are hopeful that her physical abilities will improve with time, but her confusion may not. She will also need help with medication reminders and some food prep and dressing. We look forward to hearing from you! About the care needs: The right fit for my grandmother would be someone who will listen to and be interested in her stories, who has a calm and quiet demeanor, can make her laugh, and someone who can be flexible with her. Services needed include: companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
