About who needs care: My dad has severe emphysema and COPD, which makes getting around very difficult. I would say helping with bathing and making sure he is taking his meds and maintaining oxygen would be helpful. On some occasions, even transport to appointments. About the care needs: I would prefer a male. Someone with humility is hugely important. My dad is a man's man so he likes talking about cars, wars, and politics. He was a veteran. I need someone with a strong stomach to help with bathing and other aspects of hygiene for my dad. Even helping with his laundry would be great so he has clean clothes. Because of his severe COPD, he can't take care of himself the way he used to. Services needed include: transportation, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
