About who needs care: She has diabetes and is supposed to take long acting insulin twice daily and short acting insulin at least twice daily along with taking her blood sugar twice daily. She has a pacemaker, is on weight lifting restrictions, has had both knees replaced, carpal tunnel surgery on both wrists, laser eye surgery on both eyes for cataracts. She had a heart attack around 2010, hence the pacemaker, had her gallbladder taken out. She is on several daily medications. Her father had severe Alzheimer's before he passed away and she is showing signs of it as well. She is also very stubborn and strong willed, not wanting to give up her independence for anything. She has difficulty showering on her own, and has stomach issues that causes diarrhea when she gets stressed or nervous. She should be wearing disposable underwear but currently refuses to. She sometimes gags and sometimes throws up just after eating, cause unknown. She likes doing sudoku puzzles, playing hidden objects games or solitaire on a computer, sewing. Most of her day she just sits and watches TV though. She likes going to church on Sundays and sometimes goes out to eat with church friends afterwards which she really enjoys. She enjoys watching the birds outside and spending time with family. About the care needs: Someone willing and able to deal with bodily fluids and do so in a sanitary manner. Someone kind, compassionate. My grandmother is very old school mindset and while I'm not sure she would actually say anything, she doesn't like tattoos and is very Christian as well. Services needed include: transportation, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
