About who needs care: just diagnosed with severe emphysema and afib, plus a sleep disorder that gets him up at night only half awake. need someone to keep him safe, heat or fix simple meals. He's generally very active, more like 75 instead of 95, but had an event 3 weeks ago that has taken all of his strength. not sure if the issue is temporary or won't be resolved. About the care needs: he doesn't understand accents, so he'll need English as the first language. If there was someone close to retirement that understands being a senior, it might help but not a requirement. It's a small house without a lot of room to maneuver. A simple conversationalist without being too chatty. no specialized skills will be needed. he takes care of all of his personal needs. it's early for us to know the full scope of what he'll need, hope to know more this week. We're looking for perhaps 24 hour care with sleep time until things are figured out. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
