About who needs care: My husband, who is 81 years old, was diagnosed Dementia. He can take care of himself most of the time. However he needs to be "supervised" and "reminded" to perform the daily tasks. For example, a care person needs to make sure he goes to the bathroom, takes a shower, takes his medicine and changes clothes. There is no need to clean up the house or cook meals for him at this time. Initially, I just want my husband to get used to having a different person (other than me) to take care of him. I will need to increase hours when I need to take a trip and/or his condition deteriorates. About the care needs: The care person doesn't need any specialized skill. The most important quality is patience and kindness. My husband can walk and perform most of thetasks independently. But he cannot speak clearly. One needs patience to understand his needs. He likesto play pool. We also have a pool table in the house. If there is extra time, playing pool with him would be appreciated! Services needed include: feeding, and bathing / dressing.
