About who needs care: Emma has Stage 4 terminal lung cancer, receiving the diagnosis on 9/02/2023. She has been receiving chemo therapy every three weeks since the diagnosis. She is a trans woman, having undergone gender reassignment in 2015. She is a particle physicist by training and an avowed atheist. The chemo treatments seem to have compromised her cognitive abilities (she routinely loses her phone and/or her apartment keys, and is having increasing difficulty managing her schedule). She needs someone to spend from one to three hours each weekday to help Emma prepare a meal, do light housekeeping, and help her manage her calendar of appointments. About the care needs: Emmas ideal caregiver is a free thinking person who will not offer to pray for her, who is willing to discuss politics with a liberal mind, and who has an abundance of patience! Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
