About who needs care: My mom has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. I have been seeing more significant decline in cognition, though she has better/worse days. She is now spending more time alone in her room watching TV and it is not clear to be that she is bathing regularly. While I see her at least weekly I am hoping to find someone that can visit with her a couple of times a week, to go out if she is up for it or play cards if not, prompt about personal hygiene etc. About the care needs: Skilled in dementia care ideal, my mom used to love to garden, read, do puzzles and work on various projects. She also loves to arrange flowers. Someone who is not overly loud/boisterous would be a good fit. More on the kind/listening and engaging in conversation. Services needed include: companionship.
