About who needs care: Hard of Hearing-she does have hearing aids but has a hard time getting them in or she just will not wear them. She needs her meals prepared. She is in a wheelchair and can stand only for a short time. She has been transferring from the wheelchair to her bed or to her recliner. She is on Oxygen and has a concentrator in her living room and bedroom. She has a walk in shower that has an attached teak chair. She would need assistance with that and helping her put her clothes on, due to tiring easily. She is on prescribed medications that is usually set up in a Mon- Sunday with times container She always has a nap in the afternoon until around 5, then she will get up for dinner, then relax in her recliner, watching TV and she use to really like her I- Pad. She then will go to bed between 9:00 and 10:00 p.m. She does have a potty chair next to her bed and sometimes will get up 2 or 3 times, maybe less. If you need more information you should talk to my husband. His name is Phil. I am her daughter in law. She lives alone in Vermont. Her name is Merrill. About the care needs: She is generally happy depending on how she feels. And she gets frustrated with her hard of hearing. The person needs to look at her directly when talking to her. She is continent and will wear pads just in case. She loves to read and use to love using her I Pad. She loves watching tennis and she has certain shows she likes. She needs reminded to take her pills and to eat. I think she picks at food when she is alone but if her meal is prepared, she has a good appetite.
