Hands-on Care Needed For My Husband In Waynesboro

About who needs care: My husband Dan has heart disease, has had bypass surgery, an ablation to correct A-vib and has a pace maker. He fell this past August and broke his femus so had a partial hip replacement. He is hard of hearing but does wear hearing aids, has some short-term memory issues, and has recently been dealing with UTI's. Hygiene, especially after using the toilet, has become more of a problem with the limited mobility due to the hip surgery and his UTI flare-ups. Dan's primary hobbies are following the stock market and doing crossword puzzles so -- between his interests and his physical challenges - his lifestyle has become quite sedentary, so we are also concerned about his developing pressure sores. Dan does go to out-patient PT 1-2 times a week and hopes to "graduate" from that to be able to return to the gym twice a week to work with a trainer one day and have a self-guided session another day. It would be ideal if we could have someone come in mid-morning to help get him bathed, check for pressure points, work with him on exercises recommended up by the PT program and accompany him on walks. His ideal day would start with waking by 8:30, then enjoying breakfast and his crossword puzzle. He collects statistics on the financial market so likes to check stock prices as he eats breakfast and watch the opening of the stock market at 9:30. Having a shower after that would be a mid-morning activity, allowing him to settle in for a time to watch financial shows and then keep a check on various stocks' performances throughout the day. Left to himself he would "lose" himself in his stock market data and his spreadsheet, but recognizes that that tendency / habit is counter to his need to get up and around to maintain good health and mobility. So he is responsive to others' initiation of activity and exercise - and feels better afterwards so is appreciative. About the care needs: Someone who is direct and confident without being too assertive. Someone who has a good sense of humor and can tease a bit. Someone who is genuinely caring. Someone who is calm and steady. Someone who is willing to help with bathing and hygiene as well as someone who has experience with preventing pressure sores and can treat areas of concern if needed. No specific hobbies or interests but someone who is a good conversationalist but also is comfortable with being quiet. Services needed include: feeding, and bathing / dressing.
