About who needs care: We are seeking a compassionate and patient caregiver to assist our grandmother, an 81-year-old woman who is healthy but has Alzheimer's, dementia. She is pleasantly confused and enjoys a fulfilling, active lifestyle. A gentle and understanding companion who can provide support, guidance, and companionship throughout the day will be a wonderful fit. About Our Grandmother: She is a loving, warm person who enjoys attending church, playing games, gardening, and watching birds. Her favorite music includes gospel, oldies, Elvis, and bluegrass-- she loves to listen and sing along! While she is physically capable of self-care and daily living tasks, she needs assistance with direction and staying on task, especially with more complex activities. About the care needs: Caregiver Responsibilities: Provide companionship during the day Assist with transportation to medical appointments and social events Help with staying organized and following through with tasks Possibly provide overnight care on occasion Experience in memory care or working with individuals who have Alzheimer's dementia is highly preferred Ability to provide gentle direction and ensure safety and comfort A passion for helping others and making a positive impact on someone's life Our grandmother is a sweet and engaging woman who loves to connect with others. We are looking for someone who will bring not only the necessary skills but also a warm, friendly presence that will enhance her daily life. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
