My 90+ mother-in-law lives in an independent living facility. She is a pleasant woman, well-liked by her other caregivers. She uses a walker, but her mobility has deteriorated. She may need to be steadied when getting up or followed when walking. After a recent illness, she has developed some memory loss and confusion. Right now, we need someone for Saturday and Sunday coverage from about 5:30/6:00 p.m. to about 8:30/9:00 p.m. Caregiver will need to microwave dinner or pick up a pre-ordered boxed meal from dining room, make sure she uses the bathroom, keep her company, and help her get ready and into bed. She has a cat that is fairly sedentary and quiet. Her caregiver should be gentle and patient - used to repeating or explaining things multiple times. Not a pushover, but not really stern - more of a gentle negotiator.
