About the job
We need hands-on care to take care of my loved one in Henrico. He has CP and in a wheelchair; his right leg has fractures and limited weight bearing. He weights 200-220 lbs; currently it is taking 2 ppl to transfer him to/from the bed using a 'belt' and transfer board. Clean up from bowel movements, cleaning him and the bed. Changing his adult diapers and clothing. Bathing. He has some wounds that need care - buttocks, back, legs. Some light tidying up is involved - tossing all the bed sheets and clothes in the washer. Spouse finishes the wash, makes the bed back up. Preferences for a caregiver who is CPR / first-aid trained. Spouse is also in a wheelchair, but can move around the condo on her own. PT / OT / Wound Care is currently coming to the house.
