My sister, Cynthia, is a 50-year-old woman who is special needs. She suffers from traumatic brain injury from an accidental hanging at the age of 6 which has brought on mental illnesses (schizophrenia, bi-polar depression). She loves to color, paint, make bracelets, necklaces, and loves to shop and goes to see a personal trainer at the gym She is the most giving person you will ever meet and never meets a stranger so you will find that out when you take her out for her outings. She is semi-ambulatory so she can walk with assistance from one room to the next but when she is out in town, will require her wheelchair. Her injury has left some partial issues with the left side of her body so this is why she requires assistance with walking. The side effects of her meds also play a role in her mobility as well. She needs assistance with dressing, using the bathroom, cleaning herself, showering, preparing her meals, placing her meds in front of her, getting her toothbrush ready for her, etc. need to assist in getting Cynthia to her appointments as I cannot always get her appointments scheduled during my days off. She has more good days than bad but during her bad moments, her behavior therapist suggest that we leave her alone to let her calm down and we can tell when she is going to have a bad day right when she is up in the morning so we usually have little to no outings in town to prevent episodes of crying in public. Consistency and routine is key for Cynthia I really need someone who is patient and reliable. I am usually home by 7p and will take over her night care. Her showering has become a bit tricky due to a recent fall so she has become scared of falling while in her shower chair I can get the 2nd shift person to help me give her a shower before they leave, that will be great
