About who needs care: He has an anoxic brain injury due to a cardiac arrest he had in September, 2024. Physically he has recovered well. He can walk and talk, but he is prone to wandering. He gets confused as to what is happening, the date and time, where he is, and why. He has an implanted defibrillator. His interersts are food, soccer, being outside. He used to run 2 restaurants. He is not allowed to drive. He has deficits in short term memory, and some long term as well. He continues to improve. About the care needs: Someone calm, kind, and patient. Jean-Francois speaks English, French, and Spanish, so knowledge of another language could help stimulate his brain. Someone who can redirect him easily when he gets worried about something that is not happening. someone with a sense of humor, non confrontational. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
