About who needs care: She has a Sciatica nerve that has cause her to almost be immobilized. She has always been very independent so this has been very hard on her. She has gotten the okay to work from home on her computer. She wakes up early at about 5 a.m. and needs to be at her desk at 8 a.m. She has managed to use a walker to get around the house slowly and she manages to take a shower with her new shower chair. She cannot cook her own food, because she cannot stand for long. She is also a diabetic and has thyroid issues and she has a heart murmur, and she has arthritis. She cannot drive and the medications she has been put on makes it unsafe for her to leave home alone and she cannot drive period with the pain she is in. Me and my husband are all she has we are trying our best to be here as much as we can, but we both work long hours and different shifts. We are there every weekend for her we need help through the week with her. About the care needs: Someone who is very outspoken and bold. Someone who is not afraid to match my mother's personality. She can be very stubborn and we need someone who can be just as stubborn as her. Someone who can help her with physical therapy. Someone who doesn't mind cooking and can cook pretty good, because my mom will tell you if you cannot. Someone who is not afraid of nudity becuase if my mom needs help in the shower or getting dressed, someone who is okay with that. Also my mom does have a small dog that she needs with with just making sure he gets fed everyday and making sure he has water. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
