Hands-on Care Needed For My Father In New Braunfels

About who needs care: looking for twice a day in home care for two people, a male and a female. The female is easy. administering her medication twice a day. The male has broken his back and had surgery, *he has problems getting out of bed into the bathroom right now that is improving and when they get home rehab is suggesting a bed side commode, so there may be occasional need bedding changes, also administering his medications which he is resistant to. They both are able to bath, but need reminders to do so, or their hygiene is lacking until one of their children or famliy members points out that they smell and need to wear different clothes. They are very high functioning, my mother has dementia that comes and goes and memory problems. my father has cognitive decline but you wouldn't know it until you experience a bit of time with them. my mother can do light cleaning of the household and laundry, but isn't capable of dusting, changing lightbulbs, vacuuming and really wiping and sanitizing. She also forgets laundry and it can get moldy so checking on the laundry situation will be a must too. About the care needs: someone who likes old people tell their life stories and will encourage them, someone who prefers hallmark movies, But also someone who can be sassy and firmly motherly and remain calm when my Dad gets upset and mad. What works with both my mother and father is not getting upset with them. remaining calm, staring and them, perhaps raising my eyebrows a little bit and not reacting to the temper tantrum. Once it blows over, acting as if it didn't happen. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
