About who needs care: He has Parkinson's and a broken neck, BUT he can move around and walk slowly with a walker and help. We have a wheel chair but he wants to keep walking as long as he can. Super sweet man. He never gets mad about anything. He has been forgetting things. If you remind him what you want to do he'll understand and help you get him transferred or whatever. I'm his sister in law and live with him. I've been here almost 5 years. I'm also in my 70's and my husband his brother is 1. 5 hours away. I have told him he will not go to a nursing home. This house is set up like a nursing home. Walk in shower, no carpets or rugs, Wheel chair accessible. No clutter. Nice kitchen, he'll need food. He can eat on his own but hes slow. Again he wants to do as much as he can on his own for as long as he can. I need to have some me time. I had Afib in May of this year. I'm not needing help for me, I need some freedom!! We live on a ranch and I also handle the ranch and I own a pet store in Austin, that my husband runs. I do accounting for the store online. We do have a spare bedroom that I might consider a live in, but not at this time. I would need to know someone before that would happen. Everything is pretty simple, I have to keep it that way with all I do. About the care needs: I'm an easy person to get along with. I don't like drama. I tell all my employees at the pet store and on the ranch, I can handle just about anything but a lair and a thief. And you need to be on time. I'm a busy person and need people to be on time. They will need to administer medication. I do have a dog and cats in the house--so if you are allergic to cats that would be a no go. Services needed include: feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
