About who needs care: Disabled veteran with heart disease, Parkinson's Disease and Parkinson's Dementia. Enjoys being with our two Australian Cattle Dogs, watching and talking about anything that has to do with vehicles or airplanes. Enjoys rv travel with spouse and dogs. Their ideal day is very routine. Enjoys meals at set times, watches videos on electronic device and enjoys outdoor time. Ideally, he would benefit from someone who listens, is patient and would encourage him to do his Parkinson's exercises by doing the exercises alongside him. About the care needs: A person who is positive, patient, a good listener and who understands and enjoys being around our two Australian Cattle Dogs would be beneficial. Special skills: patience, listening, organized with medications and meals Specific hobbies and interests are not required. I, his spouse, have been his full time caregiver for two years. I am a teacher, and would like to return to the classroom. The school is 10 miles from the house, but due to his cognitive impairment, there needs to be a responsible adult with him while I am at work. Being a teacher, it is difficult to call into work last minute, and I don't like to miss work, so I need someone trustworthy and dependable. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
