About who needs care: Intellectually disabled son no longer interested in attending his day hab. He is with us 24x7 now and we need some respite. He is fully functional physically. It's his brain that is stuck at 2-3 years old as well as his abilities. He is gentle and mild mannered and enjoys doing things out in the community, but needs lots of direction. Presently, I do elementary activities with him, i. e., puzzles, coloring, reading to him, fine motor skills, etc. I would have him do some of these with a caregiver, go to the library, a movie, a ride on the train, a museum, the zoo. Anything to fill his time. About the care needs: I am looking for someone who is patient, kind and encouraging. Someone who understands the limits of a damaged brain. Someone who is fun and likes to go places and take walks. Services needed include: transportation, and companionship.
