Wheelchair bound, but needs to exercise (within our high-rise apartment fitness room) 3 times per week on recumbent bike and practice walking along fixed handrail using foot brace. Light lunch assistance needed. 8:00 a.m. start. Breakfast provided by husband before 8:00. Wife Relaxes in lounge chair after breakfast and throughout the day. Needs 1 hour of exercise mid-morning Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Needs In wheelchair hand wash daily. Needs Bathroom transfer to toilet 4-5 times per day. Needs Light lunch prep and service around noon or walk to Knox Street for lunch. Needs Random assistance with TV control and laptop computer (iMac). Desires Afternoon stroll down Katy Trail (residence fronts on Katy Trail). Weather permitting, wife enjoys sitting on outdoor terrace Wife needs communication help with phone calls or text messages. Interests: On-line searches for fashion and travel. Gardening limited to terrace plantings. Likes to hold dog in her lap occasionally Likes to watch TV series Caregiver traits: Calm demeanor, but cheerful. Trustworthy. Understanding of stroke recovery. Patience with sometimes frustrated patient. Minimum 40-year-old woman. Not overly religious, but a person of faith. Upbeat personality. Meticulous about keeping things in order. We have a housekeeper doing detailed weekly cleaning. Laundry and dish washing will be done by husband/son. No specific certifications required. Three personal and three professional References. Work history or resume to be provided. Transportation and parking accommodation: Parking is available in a secured parking structure. transit station. Buses serve our neighborhood. Pet: We have an 11 y. o. King Charles Cavalier that we added to our family when my wife's mother passed to years ago. She is a lap dog who loves to be held. A little persnickety, but craves attention. We have a doggy door connected to our terrace and the dog is free to pass in and out as she desires. Husband cleans up the terrace after the dog daily. Dog is fed at 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
