About who needs care: My mother in law is 78 and had a severe stroke in October leaving her unable to use the left side of her body very much. She is pretty much either in bed, sitting on the couch or moved via wheelchair. She is attending PT & OT outpatient beginning in January. I care for her most of the time but will need help occasionally and the schedule may change. Once she is regains some use and can go home, she will need more consistent care. About the care needs: She needs someone patient and understanding but NOT a pushover. She will try and get out of things like bathing because she is afraid of falling but she has to bathe. Caretaker will need to be physically strong enough to handle transferring her on their own without any physical harm coming to her. Services needed include: companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
