About who needs care: My father was diagnosed with ALS 4 years ago. He requires significant help with basic tasks such as eating, using the bathroom and showering. He requires the use of a lift to be moved. My dad would surely appreciate some companionship in the mornings, although between meals he does enjoy a nice nap. He loves anything to do with science, history and current events. He also loves sports - soccer, basketball and football. It's nice for him to have someone to watch shows, movies. He also likes doing crosswords with a friend who can read off the hints and fill in the squares :) About the care needs: We do use some special equipment - bipap machine and lift, primarily. We can provide training on these devices. Services needed include: companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
