About who needs care: 88-year-old female weighing maybe 85lbs with Dementia plus internal medical issues causing extended bathroom trips. Patient is (by choice) nearly bedridden. She can get up (sometimes with assistance), but will spend most all of her time in bed. Patient is currently in a mental state of not seeming to fully understand where she is (though she's in their home of 20 years). Hobbies (reading, scrolling endlessly through ipad feeds). Daily structure she'd prefer? Not eating at all, laying in bed. :( Really challenging to get her to eat due to the above internal medical issues. About the care needs: Someone with endless patience. Someone who can anticipate her needs/wants to assist (hopefully) better than we can. My Dad is with her (age 84) and assists as he can, but he's not totally healthy - and I have physical disabilities that limit what I can do some. Specialized skills: Memory care and related skills, giving medicines to someone who resists, Strength and all to assist her mobility when needed. Patient will be EXTREMELY resistant to allowing anyone in her home, or in her private areas (bedroom, bathroom, closet) so someone that can work with her (quickly) to gain trust, etc. would be amazing. Services needed include: feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
