About who needs care: Joe is 90 years old, has extensive medical history, is currently on hospice. He has home hospice care but my grandmother is caring for him on her own while dealing with stage 4 lung cancer. She is needing extra help from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. to help get him up out of bed, getting dressed, fed and back to bed. But most of the time very pleasant a joy to be around. He does spend a lot of the day sleeping but my grandmother is declining with her cancer is not wanting to put him in a skilled nursing facility. Looking for someone to help her so she can focus on her own treatments. About the care needs: Someone who is compassionate and understanding that my grandparents are transitioning to end of life and this decision has not come easily. Someone who will respect him and treat him with dignity at the end of his life. He does get up with a walker and gait belt, oxygen at night and while ambulation. He does have incontinence issues so somebody that can help with ADL's and keeping him clean when he has accidents. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
