About who needs care: She currently lives with my mother who does take care of her, but she is in her mid 60s and is needing help. I work full-time and cannot always be there and I live an hour away from them. My brother lives next-door, but he works full-time and has two kidsso I'm so I'm looking for someone in the afternoons because she does sleep late and she could stay up late but someone to help my mom with her mom. Shes rather But someone to help my mom with her mom. Shes rather independent so Im not much sure on how much housework or meal prep she would allow, but that would be a bonus maybe. They do smokeThey do smoke My grandmother has COPD, but as of right now there is nothing medically with holding or hindering her in anyway sometimes she does look like she gets short of breath, but her oxygen levels usually range from 90 to 94 when that happens, she also has a history of strokes and mini strokes. She is recently getting over a really bad UTI. As far as hobbies and interests, she will tell you she is lazy lolAs far as hobbies and interests, she will tell you she is lazy lol She used to like going to Goodwill and would spend hours in there, but she does have a hard time getting around since the strokes. She has a lot slower than she used to be she used to sew alsoand my mom has tried a few things to get her to do, but she just doesnt And my mom has tried a few things to get her to do, but she just doesnt seem interested. And as for her day, she gets up anywhere from 11 AM to as late as 4 PM according to my mom itsAnd as for her day, she gets up anywhere from 11 AM to as late as 4 PM according to my mom its never really the same every day but the consensus is 1 PM to 2:30 PM the majority of the time unless she has a doctors appointment or is going somewhere otherwise. She is incontinent at times but does wear a pull-up with a pad throughout the day she will go to the bathroom, and then go to the living room to her designated chair and usually wants a cup of coffee and a cigarette, and then something to eat then she just saysin her chair and watches TV or sleeps since the strokes she does a lot more napping lol. Cognitively she still understands and will answer. Sometimes it takes a minute to actually give you an answer and some days cognitively. It seems like she doesnt comprehend what you ask or she just dont want to give you an answer. She is stubborn so were not 100% sure ha ha. My mom usually fixes supper and will help get her back-and-forth to the bathroom she does use a walker to get back-and-forth. She is pretty laid-backShe is pretty laid-back They both are they like the company and dont get it as often as theyd like but the work is simple not a whole lot of lifting just really helping her up and down out of the chair that she sits in and helping with bathing. About the care needs: As far as personality, someone that has a few years experience as a CNA with a sense of humor. Specialized skills, knowing the proper body mechanics for transfers and the signs and symptoms of a stroke and respiratory problems.
